It was then repainted into the Airlines of South Australia livery at Melbourne (Essendon) and named 'City of Whyalla' before commencing operations with them in May 1968. |

It was then sold to the ITEL Corporation and prepared for delivery to Kuwait Airways. |

It was reregisterd as VH-YQW and had special promotional decals applied to it during its pre-service maintenance. This aircraft was the last Boeing 717 built by McDonnell Douglas. |
