On This Day - April 21, 1994. The Fokker F28-1018 Fellowship VH-FKD operated its final revenue service when it flew Sydney - Hobart - Melbourne. It was then withdrawn from service and stored at Melbourne (Tullamarine) awaiting sale, having flown 57,600 hours and 58,938 cycles. It was not sold and was broken-up on-site on November 21, 1995 - the first Ansett jet to be scrapped. |

On This Day - April 21, 2002. The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-238B VH-ECB 'City of Swan Hill' operated its final revenue service as Flight QF20 from Japan (Tokyo, Narita) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then withdrawn from use and prepared for its ferry flight to the United States for storage. |
