The East-West Airlines de Havilland DHC-6-100 Twin Otter VH-EWM entered service in Tasmania, under contract to the C.S.I.R.O. for an initial period of two years, to conduct 'rain-making' experiments.

The veteran Ansett Airlines Douglas DC-3-232A VH-ABR was withdrawn from scheduled RPT operations. It was then utilised for special charter flights as needed.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-338C VH-EBU 'City of Broken Hill' operated a Cyclone Tracy evacuation flight from Darwin to Brisbane carrying 247 passengers - 157 adults, 46 children and 44 infants.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-336ER VH-ZXE entered service, operating Flight QF417 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Melbourne (Tullamarine).

On This Day - December 27, 2014.

The last day of Qantas Boeing 767 operations! The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGL 'City of Wangaratta' was the last aircraft to be withdrawn from service, after it operated Flight QF767 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). To mark this sad occasion the aircraft performed three circuits over Sydney Harbour before it landed. On engine shut-down it had flown 83,681.25 hours with 27,145 cycles.

On This Day - December 27, 2014.

The last day of Qantas Boeing 767 operations! The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGT 'Maroochydore' was the first aircraft to be withdrawn from service, after it operated Flight QF442 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). The aircraft was then withdrawn from service at Sydney, where it was stored with all marking removed.
