The Ansett Airlines Boeing 737-277A VH-CZX entered service operating Flight AN396 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Canberra.

The Ansett Airlines Douglas DC-9-31 VH-CZA operated its final revenue service as Flight AN56 from Launceston (Tasmania) to Melbourne (Tullamarine). To mark its retirement a special inscription was painted on the forward fuselage.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 737-377 VH-CZC, having been stored at Christchurch (New Zealand) since the collapse of Ansett on September 13, 2001, was test-flown prior to being ferried Christchurch (New Zealand) to Melbourne (Tullamarine) later that day as Flight AN40, where it was once again placed in storage until its sale to AAR Aircraft & Engine Sales & Leasing, USA in August.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGB 'City of Kalgoorlie', having been wet-leased to Air Pacific for 1 month, operated its last service as Flight FJ911 from Nadi (Fiji) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VYF 'Evendale' arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight QF6020. It was the airline's 150th Boeing airliner and its 30th Boeing 737.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438ER VH-OEE 'Nullarbor' was ferried Los Angeles to Mojave as Flight 6001, for storage and eventual scrapping. Flight time was just 28 minutes. On engine shut-down she had flown 80,380 hours with 7,419 cycles.
