The Australian National Airways Avro 10 VH-UMF 'Southern Cloud' vanished without a trace whilst operating the scheduled passenger service between Sydney (Mascot) and Melbourne (Laverton). The eight people on board were killed. It was Australia's first major civil airline disaster. The crash site was not discovered until October 26, 1958. |
