The Trans-Australia Airlines Douglas DC-4-1009 VH-TAA 'Watkin Tench' was destroyed when it crashed on Bulwer Island whilst on approach to Brisbane Airport at night. It was operating Flight TN1902, a cargo service from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Brisbane. The aircraft had flown some 46,000 hours.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 737-277A VH-CZW arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle, Boeing Field).

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJO 'City of Toowoomba' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle) via Canada (Vancouver), operating Flight QF531 which was also its first revenue service. It was the airline's 98th Boeing airliner and its 45th Boeing 747.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-376 VH-TJA 'Resolute' returned to service following its repaint into the standard Qantas livery.

The Qantas New Zealand British Aerospace 146-300 ZK-NZM was ferried from Christchurch (New Zealand) to Blenheim (New Zealand) where it underwent a 'C-Check' and repainting into the Air New Zealand / Mount Cook livery by Safe Air. The aircraft was registered to Mount Cook Airline Ltd on June 06.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 737-33A VH-CZV that had been stored at the Ansett Terminal at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) since September 13, 2001 following the airline's suspension of operations due to bankruptcy, was ferried to Melbourne (Tullamarine) as Flight AN4041 for further storage. The aircraft had flown 37,490 hours with 31,169 cycles.

On This Day - May 24, 2007.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-338 VH-EBT 'City of Wagga Wagga' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) for the last time, on its ferry flight to the United States (New York, Rome) for storage and hopeful sale. It was ferried to the United States in the basic Qantas livery. On arrival at Rome, the aircraft never flew again, and was scrapped 'on-site' between 2010 and 2014. It had flown a total of 90,381 hours with 15,813 cycles.
