S. serial number '42-93200' Transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force under the lend / lease agreement - May 25, 1944 Entered onto the Australian Military Aircraft Register as A65-51 It was operated using the radio callsign 'VHCIH' Allocated to No 38, No 35 & No 36 Squadrons during the war Sold to Trans-Australia Airlines - September 25, 1946 Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-TAJ - June 05, 1947 Registered to Australian National Airlines Commission. Melbourne The aircraft was named 'McKinlay' Operated its first T.A.A. revenue service - June 06, 1947 The entrance door was modified to permit mail and supplies to be dropped in flight - December 1957 This requirement was especially useful during the Queensland wet season It was one of four aircraft modified for this role with the test flights carried out at Mangalore, Victoria Operated its final T.A.A. revenue service - July 12, 1968 Withdrawn from use and stored at Brisbane Airport pending sale Sold to Australian Aircraft Sales - January 03, 1969 Cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register - February 27, 1969 Sold to Seulawah Air Services - May 24, 1969 Entered onto the Indonesian Aircraft Register as PK-RDH Withdrawn from use - 1972 Final disposition of this airframe still needs to be ascertained at this time |
