This aircraft was originally ordered new by Trans Michigan Airlines First flown at Downsview as N111TM - April 17, 1969 Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-20 engines The sale to Trans Michigan Air did not proceed The aircraft was placed in storage in basic Trans Michigan Air livery The Trans Michigan Air livery was removed from the aircraft - November 1969 Sold to Miami Aviation Corp, Opa Locka, Florida - December 19, 1969 Sold to Aeronaves del Mayab SA t/a Aeronaves Alimentadoras - December 19, 1969 Entered onto the Mexican Aircraft Register as XA-BOM - December 19, 1969 The aircraft was also operated by Aeronaves del Sureste S.A. Withdrawn from service and offered for sale - January 1978 Sold to John Woods Inc - February 1978 Entered onto the United States Aircraft Register as N54540 - February 15, 1978 Registered to John Woods Inc, Dallas, Texas Sold to Pan Air Cargo - October 1978 Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-PAQ - October 26, 1978 Registered to Pan Air Cargo Pty Ltd The aircraft was damaged when it crashed on landing at Yarra Creek, King Island - February 13, 1979 The aircraft was carrying a load of beef from King Island to Wynyard, Tasmania When bad weather prevented the aircraft from landing at Wynyard the pilot elected to return to King Island Realising that he was running out of fuel an emergency landing was effected in a paddock The resultant landing rendered the aircraft uneconomical to repair To view further details please click 'HERE' Cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register - February 13, 1979 Aircraft remains were acquired by Aeropelican as a source of spare parts Observed at Sydney (Bankstown) in a dismantled condition - April 20, 1979 |
