L. Pirie, R. F. Hoyle, R. S. Bruce The aircraft was named 'City of Dunedin' Opererated its first revenue service - June 02, 1961 It operated the inaugural Viscount service into Dunedin (Momona) Airport - May 22, 1962 This was the day of operations for the airport Commenced regular Viscount services to Dunedin - November 03, 1962 The aircraft was damaged when it overran the runway on landing at Wellington - February 17, 1963 It came to rest down an embankment at the southern end of the runway at Moa Point Minor damaged was sustained the the propellors on Number 3 and 4 engines Replacement propellors were flown by a DC-3 frieighter from Christchurch - February 18, 1963 In order to accommodate the propellers, one blade from each unit was stuck out of a cabin window Ferried Wellington - Christchurch for permanent repairs - February 20, 1963 It set a new speed record Wellington - Dunedin of 1 hr 6 minutes (Capt C.
