The Qantas Cargo Boeing 707-327C N7099 arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its final cargo service, operating New York - San Francisco - Sydney. It was then withdrawn from service and prepared for return to Braniff International at the end of its 9-month lease.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-338 VH-EBU 'City of Sydney' was renamed 'City of Warnambool' at a special ceremony at Sydney (Kingsford Smith).

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJM 'City of Gosford' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States via Canada. This was also its first revenue service, operating Flight QF531 from Canada (Vancouver) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was the 93rd Boeing airliner delivered to Qantas and its 43rd Boeing 747.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJQ 'City of Mandurah' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith), having completed its delivery flight from the United States. It was the airline's 100th airliner. This was also its first revenue service, operating Flight QF531 from Los Angeles to Sydney.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGN 'Partnership' operated its last revenue service as Flight QF430 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then withdrawn from use and prepared for its ferry flight to the United States for storage and eventual sale.
